#1: Pass Through the Wonderful Bridges – The Wonderful Bridges are a spectacular sight not far from the Zabardo Village. The Wonderful Bridges were once a cave, but because of soil erosion have turned into spectacular marble bridges. They consist of three arcs, the biggest of which is 45 meters high and 40 meters wide. There’s a river that passed underneath them, called the Ekyupriya River.

#2: Meditate at the Bachkovo Monastery – The Bachkovo Monastery is one of the most peaceful and tranquil spots that you will ever come across. It is a great place to meditate and contemplate on the meaning of life and other important things that are important to you.

#3: Trek to the Kaleto Fortress – Kaleto Fortress is situated near the Koshnitsa village and offers a spectacular view of the country side. The hike to the fortress is not difficult and you will enjoy the beautiful natural sceneries along the way. To get to the fortress, you will have to get through a passage cave, so it’s pretty exciting. The view from the top of the setting sun and the vast spread of the countryside below is worth its weight in gold.

#4: Hike to the Orpheus Rocks - Orpheus Rocks offer a spectacular view of the Rhodope Mountains. It is easy to get to them; they are at a 10 minute walk from the centre of the Pamporovo town. These Rocks have a great history behind them. It is said that the great mythical singer Orpheus was born in the Rhodope Mountains and liked to sit on these rocks while playing his harp and attracting fair maidens to his side. You will simply love getting to the top of the Orpheus Rocks, the view that you get from up here is stunning, to say the least.

#5: Visit the Momchilova Fortress – The Momchilova Fortress is a fully renovated fortress situated at the Gradat Village high up in the Rhodope Mountains. It is easy to get to the place by car. A better option would be to hike to the top, it only takes 15 to 20 minutes of your time. Once in the Momchilova Fortress, you will get a spectacular view of the West Rhodope Mountains. Do remember to carry your best camera.

#6: Get to the Top of the Snezhanka Tower – The Snezhanka tower is a tall TV tower that offers a panoramic view of the Rhodope Mountain. On a clear day, people in Pamporavo say that you can even get to see the Aegean Sea. This is more a legend than a fact, but there is no question that you will get a really spectacular view from up the tower. You will love the coffee that’s available here too!
